Every purifier we review is tested in the same room, the same way.

AirLab Thailand is an independent air purifier review site. We help people who already know they want a purifier pick the right one, using numbers we measured ourselves instead of marketing slogans.

Our scores and verdicts are never influenced by money or affiliate links. Every review says plainly who should skip the product, not just who should buy it. We don't copy numbers from the box: every figure we publish comes from our own measurements.

Why you can trust our reviews

  1. We use one room for every unit

One 9 m² room, one method, every time. That is what lets you compare one review with the next.

  2. We publish the whole method

Every start level, distance, and rule is on our methodology page. You can check how any number was made.

  3. We measure noise and power

A sound meter and a wall energy meter at every fan speed. We do not copy the numbers from the box.

  4. We count the long-term cost

Each review adds up a year of electricity and replacement filters, so the price tag is not the whole story.

  5. We tell you who should skip it

Every review says who the purifier is for and who should buy something else, even when we like it.

  6. We check the brand’s claims

The claims check puts what the brand says next to what we measured. If the box oversells, you will see it.

How we test, in short

Real homes are not sealed labs, so we test in a real furnished room. Because every purifier gets the exact same job, the results line up side by side.

  1. 01

    Fill the room with smoke

We close the 9 m² room and light incense until our Temtop S1 monitor shows PM2.5 of at least 75 µg/m³.

  2. 02

    Time the clean-up

We switch the purifier on and time how long it takes to bring PM2.5 down to 15 µg/m³. We do this at every fan speed, filling the room with smoke again before each one.

  3. 03

    Measure noise and power

At every fan speed we record the sound level 1 m from the unit and the watts it pulls from the wall.

Every rule and number is on the full methodology page.

What we will not do

A note from our lab editor

Most air purifier advice online repeats the numbers printed on the box. Those numbers come from a sealed lab chamber, not a living room, and they rarely tell you how loud a purifier is at night or what the filters will cost you in a year.

So we test every unit ourselves, in the same room, with the same steps. It is slower than writing a roundup, and it means we review fewer products. But when you read one of our reviews, you can see exactly how each number was measured and decide for yourself.

If you think we got something wrong, or want us to test a purifier next, please get in touch.
